Craig E. Colten is an American historical geographer and professor emeritus at Louisiana State University, known for research on the American South, environmental history, coastal Louisiana, water, hazards, and community resilience. He earned a Ph.D. from Syracuse University in 1984 and was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
