Craig Allen Johnson, born January 16, 1961, is an American author best known for his New York Times bestselling Walt Longmire mystery novel series set in Wyoming's fictional Absaroka County.[1][2][5] A former police officer, educator, cowboy, and longshoreman, he lives in Ucross, Wyoming, and his works have inspired a hit Netflix series.[2][3][5]
