Cora Harrison

Cora Harrison is an Irish author known for her critically acclaimed historical detective novels, including the Burren Mysteries set in 16th-century West Ireland, the Reverend Mother series in 1920s Cork during the Irish Civil War, and the Gaslight series featuring Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins in 19th-century London.[1][7] Born in Cobh, County Cork, she suffered a serious illness as a child that kept her bedridden for years, during which she began creating stories; after recovering, she studied at University College Cork, taught primary school for 25 years, and later moved to a farm in Kilfenora, County Clare.[2][3][7] She has published over 65 books for adults and children, often focusing on Irish history and mythology.[6][7]
