Clive Cussler
Clive Eric Cussler was an American adventure novelist and underwater explorer best known for his thriller series featuring the character Dirk Pitt, with over 80 books that sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. He founded the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), a non-profit organization that discovered over 60 shipwrecks, including the Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley. Cussler served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and began writing in 1965 after a career in advertising.[1][4][6]
