Clifton Adams

Clifton Adams was an American author born in Comanche, Oklahoma, known for his gritty crime novels, hardboiled westerns, and pulp short stories; he authored nearly 50 novels and over 125 short stories under pseudonyms like Clay Randall, Jonathan Gant, and Matt Kinkaid. A World War II tank commander in Africa and Europe, he won two Spur Awards from the Western Writers of America in 1969 and 1970 for Tragg's Choice and The Last Days of Wolf Garnett, respectively, and was named Oklahoma Writer of the Year in 1965.
