Clare Oliver
Clare Oliver (1981-2007) was an Australian aspiring journalist and activist who was diagnosed with melanoma at age 21, which she attributed to excessive solarium use. In her final weeks, she bravely shared her story through media interviews and a widely published article, catalyzing public awareness and leading to stricter regulations on sunbeds in Australia. Posthumously honored on the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2009, her legacy includes the Clare Oliver Melanoma Fund for skin cancer awareness.
