Christina Balit is a British-born author, illustrator, and playwright known for her children's books on mythology, ancient history, and legends, influenced by her childhood in the Middle East and British-Armenian ancestry. She studied at Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art, has illustrated over 20 books including titles like Escape from Pompeii and Atlantis, and has been shortlisted twice for the Kate Greenaway Medal. Her plays include Woman with Upturned Skirt and Needle, winner of the Brave New Roles Award.[1][2][3]
