Christie Harris
Christie Lucy Harris (November 21, 1907 – January 5, 2002) was a Canadian children's writer best known for her portrayal of Haida First Nations culture in her 1966 novel *Raven's Cry*.[1][5] She was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Irish immigrant parents and moved to British Columbia, Canada, with her family as a child.[1][4] Her later works focused on retelling Pacific Northwest Indigenous tales, earning her prestigious awards including the Canadian Library Association Book-of-the-Year Award.[5]
