Chris Van Dusen

Chris Van Dusen is an award-winning American author and illustrator of children's picture books, best known for works like 'Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee,' 'The Circus Ship,' and illustrating the Mercy Watson series by Kate DiCamillo. Born in Portland, Maine, on St. Patrick's Day in 1960, he graduated with a BFA from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in 1982, worked as a freelance illustrator for magazines, and published his first book in 2000. He lives in Camden, Maine, with his wife and family.
