Chris Tysh

Chris Tysh is a poet, playwright, translator, and Associate Professor of Teaching at Wayne State University in Detroit since 1989, specializing in poetry, translation, feminism, literary theory, and world literature. Born and raised in Paris, France, she studied American literature at the Sorbonne, earned a Maitrise (M.A.) there, and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1998; her works include 'Hotel des Archives: A Trilogy,' 'Derrida’s In/Voice,' and plays like 'car men.' She has received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Poetry (2003), Kresge Foundation fellowship, and teaches writing and women’s studies.
