Chevy Chase is an American comedian, actor, and writer born Cornelius Crane Chase on October 8, 1943, in New York City. He became a breakout star on Saturday Night Live's first season (1975–1976) with his iconic Weekend Update segment and Gerald Ford impersonations, earning Emmy Awards for both writing and acting. He went on to establish himself as a leading man in successful 1980s comedy films including Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation, and Fletch.
