Cherifa Zekhnine

Chérifa, born Ouardia Bouchemlal on January 9, 1926, was an Algerian Kabyle singer-songwriter from Kabylia who composed hundreds of songs over more than 40 years of artistic life[1][6]. She passed away on March 13, 2014, at the age of 88, leaving a significant legacy in Algerian musical heritage[1][7]. Known for songs like 'Sniwa difenjalen' and 'Azwaw', she was a pioneering figure for women artists in Kabyle music[6].
