Charles Wohlstetter

Charles Wohlstetter was a New York City-born entrepreneur who graduated from City College of New York in 1929 at age 18 and pursued careers in stock brokerage, aircraft manufacturing during World War II, and investment banking.[1] In 1961, he founded Telephone Communications Corporation (later Contel) with partners Philip J. Lucier and Jack Maguire by raising $1.5 million and acquiring a telephone exchange.[1][2] He later became a real-estate mogul, owning the Racquet Club in Palm Springs and a French vineyard, and passed away in May 1995 at age 85.[1][3]
