Charles William Stewart
Charles William Stewart was a British book illustrator born in the Philippines in 1915. He studied at the Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting in London and received his first book illustration commission in 1944 for Rose Fyleman’s "Hob and Bob". In 1946, he was commissioned to illustrate Sheridan Le Fanu’s "Uncle Silas," though publication was later postponed.
