Charles Warren

Charles Warren was a British army officer, archaeologist, and police commissioner best known for his explorations in Jerusalem and his later role as Chief Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police during the Jack the Ripper era. He was also involved with the Palestine Exploration Fund and authored works on archaeology and ancient weights and measures. Although sometimes referred to as an author, the search results suggest the most prominent Charles Warren was not primarily a literary figure.
