Charles Ramsdell

Charles William Ramsdell (1876-1943) was a prominent American historian specializing in the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. He taught at the University of Wisconsin and later at Duke University, where he chaired the history department. Ramsdell authored influential works such as 'Reconstruction in Mississippi' and inaugurated the Walter Lynwood Fleming Lectures in Southern History.
