Charles Pickering

Charles Pickering (1805–1878) was an American naturalist, physician, curator, and author known for his work on zoology, botany, ethnography, and the geographical distribution of plants and animals. He served as the naturalist for the United States Exploring Expedition and later published influential studies including Races of Man and Their Geographical Distribution and Geographical Distribution of Plants.
