Charles MacDonald
Charles Macdonald is a French-based ethnologist and anthropologist born in the United States in 1944. His research focuses on Southeast Asian cultures, especially the indigenous communities of southern Palawan in the Philippines, and he has also worked on field research in Indonesia and Vietnam. He has held senior research and institutional leadership roles in France and has published widely on social organization, kinship, ritual, mythology, and related topics.
