Charles Eldridge

Charles E. Eldridge was a prominent New York stage actor from the 1870s who transitioned to silent films, becoming a key figure at Vitagraph Film Company from 1910 with over 160 credits in crime, comedy, and melodrama genres. He gained fame for his recurring role as Jabee Smith in the 'Mr. Jarr' comedy shorts starting in 1915 and worked with studios like IMP, Victor, Rolfe, Columbia, Shubert, Goldwyn, and Fox until 1916. Eldridge passed away from cancer in 1922 at age 68.
