Charles Edward Chapel

Charles Edward Chapel (1904–1967) was an American author, college professor, aeronautical engineer, and Republican politician who served in the California State Assembly from 1951 until his death. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate and Marine Corps veteran with service in Nicaragua, China, and elsewhere, he authored over 4,000 articles and 29 books on firearms, aviation, police science, and forensics. He died in office in Sacramento after completing a children's book on Henry Deringer.
