Charles Davidoff
Charles Davidoff, more commonly known as Karl Davydov, was a Russian cellist, composer, and pedagogue born in 1838 in Goldingen, Courland (now Kuldīga, Latvia). He became one of the leading cellists of the 19th century, served as professor and principal at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire, and composed works mainly for cello and piano.
