Charles 1812-1877 Boutell
Charles Boutell (1812–1877) was an English archaeologist, antiquary, and clergyman known for his publications on brasses, arms and armour, and heraldry, often illustrated with his own drawings.[1][2] Born in St. Mary Pulham, Norfolk, to the Rev. Charles Boutell, he authored works such as 'A Manual of British Archaeology' (1858) and 'A Manual of Heraldry' (1863).[2][5] He died of a ruptured heart on 31 July 1877 and is buried at Paddington Old Cemetery, Kilburn, London.[1][4]
