Charlene Polio

Charlene Polio is an American linguist and professor in the Department of Linguistics, Languages, and Cultures at Michigan State University, specializing in second language acquisition, particularly second language writing and research methodology.[1][2][5] She earned her B.A. in Linguistics (1983) and M.S. in TESOL (1984) from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from UCLA in 1992.[1][2] Her publications appear in journals such as Studies in Second Language Acquisition, TESOL Quarterly, and Journal of Second Language Writing, and she co-edits TESOL Quarterly.[1]
