Cece Bell
Cecelia Carolina Bell (born December 26, 1970, in Richmond, Virginia) is an American author, cartoonist, and illustrator best known for her graphic novel memoir El Deafo, which won a Newbery Honor and Eisner Award and draws from her experiences losing most of her hearing to meningitis at age four and a half. Her work, including the Sock Monkey series, Chick and Brain books, and collaborations with her husband Tom Angleberger, has appeared in publications like The Atlantic and Newsweek, earning multiple Geisel Honors and Junior Library Guild selections.
