Cay S. Horstmann
Cay S. Horstmann is a computer science professor and author of numerous textbooks on programming languages, including Java, with a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan (1987) and prior degrees from Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel and Syracuse University.[1][2][6] He taught at San Jose State University from 1987 to 2019, held visiting positions in Germany, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Macau, served as VP and CTO of an internet startup, and is recognized as an ACM Distinguished Member for educational contributions.[2][3][6] Born in northern Germany, he continues writing books and developing online courses for programmers.[4][5][6]
