Caroll Spinney (Actor),

Caroll Spinney was an American puppeteer, cartoonist, and artist best known for performing Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street from its inception in 1969 until his retirement in 2018. His puppetry career began at age eight, and he became an accomplished performer who earned four Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and was named a Living Legend by the Library of Congress in 2000. He also wrote an autobiography titled The Wisdom of Big Bird (and the Dark Genius of Oscar the Grouch): Lessons from a Life in Feathers.
