Carol Rose GoldenEagle

Carol Rose GoldenEagle is a Cree/Dene author, poet, playwright, visual artist, and musician from Sandy Bay, northern Saskatchewan, previously known as Carol Daniels. After over 30 years as a journalist in television and radio at stations including CBC, CTV, and APTN—where she became the first Indigenous woman to anchor a national broadcast—she transitioned to full-time arts, publishing award-winning works like the novel Bearskin Diary (2015), poetry collections Hiraeth (2018) and Bone Black (2019), and serving as Saskatchewan Poet Laureate (2021-2023). She has also exhibited artwork across Saskatchewan and Northern Canada and contributed to nominated Indigenous music projects.
