Carol Kammen (Editor),

Carol Kammen, born November 14, 1937, in Plainfield, New Jersey, is a historian, author, and former Tompkins County Historian who served for 22 years until resigning in 2023.[1][3][4] She authored books such as Glorious to View, Part & Apart, First Person Cornell, and On Doing Local History, while writing a weekly column for The Ithaca Journal since 1978 and the 'On Doing Local History' column for AASLH's History News for 25 years.[1][2][3][6] Kammen taught at Ithaca High School, TC3, and Cornell University, and received awards including the 2020 Herbert H. Lehman Prize and New York State Historian of the Year for 2004-05.[3][4]
