Carol Frances Jegen

Carol Frances Jegen, BVM (1925–2020) was a pioneering Catholic theologian, religious educator, and activist who spent over 30 years as a professor at Mundelein College and Loyola University in Chicago. As one of the first women religious in the United States to earn a doctorate in theology, she was instrumental in developing religious education programs, Jewish-Christian relations, and support for social justice movements including the United Farm Workers.
