Carmen Millán

María del Carmen Millán Acevedo was a prominent Mexican writer, academic, professor, and researcher who became the first woman to be admitted as a full member of the Academia Mexicana de la Lengua in 1974, taking possession of chair XII in 1975.[2][3] She directed key literary institutions including the Centro de Estudios Literarios at UNAM (1960-1971) and contributed significantly to Mexican literature through works like the Diccionario de escritores mexicanos and various editorial projects.[5] She also served as Director General of Canal 13 Television (1976-1978) and as permanent secretary of the Academy until her death.[2][3]
