Carlo Sgorlon

Carlo Sgorlon (1930-2009) was a prominent Italian writer from Friuli, known for his novels blending realism and metaphysical themes, including works in both Italian and Friulian such as 'Il Dolfin' and 'Prime di sere'. He studied at the Normal School in Pisa with a thesis on Franz Kafka and taught Italian literature in Udine. Winner of major literary prizes like Campiello (1973, 1983), Strega (1985), and Risit d'aur (1988), his books have been translated into dozens of languages.
