Carl von Clausewitz
Carl von Clausewitz was a Prussian general and military theorist born on June 1, 1780, in Burg near Magdeburg, who began his military career at age twelve and participated in key conflicts including the Napoleonic Wars. He is best known for his seminal work 'On War' (Vom Kriege), published posthumously in 1832, which emphasizes the psychological and political dimensions of warfare. He served as director of the Prussian War College from 1818 until his death from cholera on November 16, 1831, in Breslau.
