Carl Mehling (Editor)

Carl Mehling is a Senior Museum Specialist at the American Museum of Natural History, where he has worked in the Paleontology Division for 34 years.[3] He specializes in fossil amphibians, reptiles, birds, and plants, and serves as consultant editor for paleontology publications including the Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs.[2][4] A paleontologist known for his expertise in unusual vertebrates and fossil preservation, Mehling has supported numerous paleontology students and had a shark-like fossil species, Cosmoselachus mehlingi, named in his honor.[3]
