Cal Ripken
Calvin Edwin Ripken Jr., nicknamed 'the Iron Man,' is a former American professional baseball shortstop and third baseman who played his entire 21-season MLB career (1981–2001) with the Baltimore Orioles.[1][2] Renowned for his record 2,632 consecutive games played, surpassing Lou Gehrig's streak, he won Rookie of the Year (1982), two MVP awards (1983, 1991), and was a 19-time All-Star, redefining the shortstop position with power hitting and defensive prowess.[1][3] Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, he now leads Ripken Baseball, Inc., and supports youth programs.[4][5]
