C Tarkington
Newton Booth Tarkington (1869–1946) was an acclaimed American novelist and dramatist, best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning novels *The Magnificent Ambersons* (1918) and *Alice Adams* (1921), which depicted Midwestern life.[1][2] One of only four authors to win the Pulitzer for Fiction twice, he also wrote popular youth classics like the *Penrod* series and served briefly in the Indiana legislature.[2][4] In his era, he was regarded as America's greatest living author, with several works adapted into films.[1][2]
