C. Suetonius Tranquillus
Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus (c. 69 – after 122 CE) was a Roman biographer and antiquarian best known for his work De vita Caesarum (The Twelve Caesars), which provided biographies of Julius Caesar and the first 11 Roman emperors. He served as an imperial official under Emperor Hadrian and had access to imperial archives, though he prioritized engaging narratives and personal anecdotes over strict historical accuracy.
