C S Forester

C. S. Forester, born Cecil Louis Troughton Smith in 1899, was a British novelist best known for creating the Horatio Hornblower series, which chronicles the life of a Royal Navy officer during the Napoleonic Wars. His works span adventure, sea stories, and historical fiction, with notable titles including The African Queen, which was later adapted into a successful film. He died in 1966 in Fullerton, California, after a prolific career of over 35 novels and several biographies.
