Eduardo Subirats, born in Barcelona in 1947 to a family with roots in Francoist Spain and Nazi Germany, is a Spanish intellectual, essayist, and philosopher who studied in Paris and Berlin during the 1970s. He has taught philosophy, architecture, literature, and cultural theory at universities in Barcelona, São Paulo, Princeton, New York University, and elsewhere, while authoring over forty works critiquing culture, globalization, and modernity from a Latin American perspective. Known for his radical thought and nomadic career across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, he founded literary journals and faced censorship in Spain.
