Renate Rasp was a German novelist and poet born in Berlin in 1935, who emerged as an important new voice in 1960s West Germany. She is known for works such as the novel Ein ungeratener Sohn (1967), translated into English as A Family Failure by Eva Figes. Rasp passed away in 2015.
