Grace Lin is a Taiwanese-American author and illustrator of children's picture books, early reader books, and middle-grade novels, often incorporating Taiwanese and Chinese cultural elements. Born in New Hartford, New York, to Taiwanese immigrant parents, she grew up as one of the few Asian children in her school and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her acclaimed works include the Newbery Honor book *Where the Mountain Meets the Moon* (2009), Caldecott Honor *A Big Mooncake for Little Star* (2018), and she received the 2022 Children's Literature Legacy Award.
