Bruno Buchberger

Bruno Buchberger (born October 22, 1942) is an Austrian mathematician and computer scientist best known for creating the theory of Gröbner bases in his 1965 Ph.D. thesis. He is Professor of Computer Mathematics at Johannes Kepler University in Linz and has also been active in symbolic computation, automated theorem proving, and related research areas.
