Bruce

William George Bruce was an American author, publisher of educational, historical, and religious books, and founder of the American School Board Journal. He was a prominent civic leader in Milwaukee, serving on the school board, contributing to harbor development, and the Milwaukee Auditorium, while also engaging in local and state politics. Bruce authored and edited several books on Milwaukee's history, including Milwaukee's Century of Progress (1918), A Short History of Milwaukee (1936), The Builders of Milwaukee (1946), and the three-volume History of Milwaukee, City and County (1922).
