Brian Jacques
Brian Jacques was an English author best known for his Redwall series of children's fantasy novels featuring anthropomorphic animals in medieval-style adventures, as well as the Castaways of the Flying Dutchman series. Born in Liverpool, England, he left school at 15 to work various jobs including merchant seaman, longshoreman, truck driver, policeman, and stand-up comic before writing his first book, Redwall, for children at a school for the blind in 1986. His descriptive style captivated readers worldwide, with over 20 million Redwall books sold by 2010.
