Boye De Mente
Boyé Lafayette De Mente (1928–2017) was an American author, journalist, and adventurer who wrote more than 100 books primarily focused on Japanese culture and language. He first came to Japan in 1949 as part of the U.S. Army Security Agency and became a prolific writer whose works are widely read by travelers, businesspeople, and scholars. He founded the Arizona Authors Association in 1978 and lived most of his senior years in Arizona.
