Boris Akunin
Boris Akunin is the pen name of Grigory Shalvovich Chkhartishvili, a Russian writer of Georgian origin born in 1956. He is best known for his historical detective novels, particularly the Erast Fandorin series set in Imperial Russia, and has become one of the most widely read authors in Russia since publishing his first detective stories in 1998. A philologist, critic, essayist, and translator, Akunin has had his works translated into more than forty languages and currently lives in London as an opponent of the current war and proponent of democracy.
