Bill Watterson

Bill Watterson is an American cartoonist best known for creating the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes (1985–95), which became one of the most popular comics of all time. The strip featured a rambunctious boy and his imaginary toy tiger friend and won numerous awards including Harvey Awards and Eisner Awards. Watterson retired the strip in 1995 at the height of its popularity and has since maintained a private life, refusing to license the characters for merchandising or allow film adaptations.
