Bill Thompson III
William H. Thompson III was a renowned birder, editor of Bird Watcher's Digest founded by his parents, author of 18 books on birds, publisher, musician, and founder of the American Birding Expo.[2][3][6] He was a popular speaker at birding events, podcaster, and exemplary bird guide known for his humor, warmth, and knowledge.[1][2] Thompson passed away on March 25, 2019, after a battle with pancreatic cancer at age 57.[1][2][3]
