Bill Sewell
Bill Sewell is a historian and professor specializing in modern Japanese and Chinese history, particularly urban issues, cultural perspectives, and the Japanese empire. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. from the University of California-Davis, and a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. Since joining Saint Mary's University in 2000, he has taught courses on the histories of China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, and authored books such as 'Constructing Empire: The Japanese in Changchun, 1905-45'.
