Bill Nathan

Bill Nathan is a Haitian activist and professional drummer who became an orphan at age seven and was forced into restavek child slavery after his mother's death.[2][3] His survival story, including the 2010 Haitian earthquake where he jumped from a collapsing building, is detailed in the book 'Drummer Boy.'[2][3] He now directs St. Joseph's Home, a shelter for homeless children in Haiti, and serves as Ministry Advisor for Cabrini Community Center in Jacmel.[2][3]
