Bill Martin Jr

Bill Martin Jr. (William Ivan Martin Jr.) was an American educator, publishing executive, and prolific author of over 300 children's books, including classics like Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. A Kansas native, he earned degrees in education from Emporia State University and Northwestern University, taught, served as a principal, and developed literature-based reading programs before becoming a full-time writer. He passed away in 2004 after nearly six decades of creating rhythmic, engaging texts for young readers.
